The Kerem Tunnel allows for a the most unique riding and hiking experience.
In the 42-kilometer Jerusalem Ring Path cycling route that runs around the capital city, the Kerem Tunnel was inaugurated.

The tunnel links Nahal Refaim with Emek Motza. The southern entrance of the tunnel is beneath Ein Laban in Refaim Park. The northern entrance can be found in Nahal Ein Kerem.

On Thursday, Jerusalem and Heritage Minister Zeev Elkin, Mayor Michael, Avi Baleshnikov, Gihon chairman, and hundreds of cyclists participated in a ceremony to inaugurate the tunnel's 2.1-kilometer-long length.

Elkin's Ministry Elkin's Ministry, the Tourism Ministry, Jerusalem Municipality and the Gihon Corporation all contributed to the project. The Jerusalem Development Authority completed the work.

Elkin stressed that "The Kerem Tunnel Project is a central tool to realize the vision to change the way we think about transportation throughout Jerusalem." "The new tunnel, which will connect with the Jerusalem Ring Path, will connect with existing cycle paths within the city, as well as the ones that are being constructed in its various neighborhoods. The tunnel is intended to encourage cycling within its inhabitants, and also to encourage a green transportation revolution in Jerusalem."

The Kerem Tunnel was first excavated in the late 1990s to relocate the main sewer line from the Gihon Corporation toward the purification plant located in Sorek, which is located just west of the city. It is currently used as an infrastructure tunnel. It includes the fifth water line that connects to Jerusalem from the Mekorot water company.
